ACCREDITATION

NEW! Training in your studio or home!
Attend a workshop of your choice or get trained through a CD

Official SKPA Accreditation Workshop training:

Easy as 1-2-3!

  1. Complete the 1-day SKPA accreditation workshop

  2. Take the test after the workshop

  3. Submit 4 photos (your own images) of 4 different special children (or created in different years)

    Photographers may achieve "Special Kids Photography Accreditation" by satisfactorily completing the training and demonstrating their willingness and ability to photograph children with special needs. Before final approval is provided, applicant must have a working website posted on the Internet

  1. Complete the 1-day Special Kids Photography of America workshop (Enroll)

  2. Successfully pass both the 1) special child exam 2) photography exam (If you are PPA certified, you may omit the photography part

  3. Submit 3 letters of support from parents (children you have photographed)

  4. Submit 4 of your own personally created photographic images of children with disability or serious illness for review by our accreditation panel (8x10 prints and digital files). Use the Photo Submission Form (request it via email when your photos are ready to submit). If possible, also provide a SKPA release signed by the parent and yourself for each photo. See SKPA photo standards to help guide you in submitting your photographs for accreditation

What does SKPA Accreditation do for you?

  2. Opens doors to schools, therapy centers, families with special children

  3. Gives you confidence and ease for working with these children

  4. You will receive the SKPA "'accredited" logo (digital file)

  5. Receive a sample press release to use in contacting media

  6. Receive a Certificate of Accreditation

  7. We will provide information about your studio when people contact us for referrals

SKPA does not underwrite nor accept responsibility for any action or service performed by a photographer who has achieved SKPA accreditation or is listed as a resource on this website.
