INTERVIEW
with PARENT The importance of the pre-session interview with the parent of a special child is extremely important. Do not attempt to have a photographic session without first interviewing the parent to learn more about any special behaviors you may encounter. The pre-session interview will help you anticipate and pre-plan your approach as a professional photographer. This interview form will help alert you to the major considerations when planning a session. Other than behaviors, there are many factors such as locale, assistive devices (wheelchair, braces, etc.), and props for which you will need to pre-plan. The attached interview form does not need to be used as a formal "check list" when interviewing the parent. You may simply want to take notes as you speak. After learning the major "description" of the child, try to cover all the points from the interview form that may play a role during the session. You will need Acrobat Reader (a free program from Adobe) to open this form. Click here to view Special Kids Photography Interview Form. |
